CHILDREN: Children do tell lies. And they make up strange fantasies; from imaginary friends and invisible pets to bogeymen and even entire worlds. Many stories have been written about children who do this, but they're usually about the child who tells lies or makes up fantasies. But spare a thought (and write a story) about someone who's on the receiving end. 'Stan, did you throw that stone?' 'No, Martha threw it.' Stan gets away with it (again) and the long-suffering and wholly innocent Martha gets into trouble (again). So write a story from her point of view. Stan will get his comeuppance at the end of course. And Martha's years of torment and wrongful punishment will (hopefully) also be recognised and something will be done to make amends.
