| What
is ideas4writers all about?
ideas4writers is a website for all writers, whether they write
fiction or non-fiction, short works or long. Examples of the ideas
we provide can be found by clicking on any of the categories down
the left side of this page. A free sample idea is given for each
category. When you become a member you'll be able to see all the
ideas in each category - over 5,000 in total. The majority of
ideas also come with examples to show you how you can use or adapt
them for your own writing.
When you become a member you can also use our online software
(writing engines). Our easy-to-use writing engines include automatic
character naming, detailed character profiles and life-histories,
an automatic story generator, and much more. This makes it extremely
easy to come up with great ideas for new plots and characters,
and helps you out when you don't know which direction your story
should take.
You can also take part in our forums - ideas4writers is an online
writing community with over 600 members. You can discuss all aspects
of writing and publishing, and get help with any problems. You
can also send in samples of your writing to get free feedback
and advice from other members in our critique forum.

Who can
join?
ideas4writers is for all writers, whatever their current level,
and for anyone who thinks they'd like to give writing a try. We
hope that all our members will eventually become published and
successful, but that ambition isn't compulsory - if you just write
for your own enjoyment you'll still be very welcome.
The majority of our members live in the UK, but we also have
members in all English-speaking countries, and many others. Most
of our members are beginners or in the early stages of their writing
career. Some are semi-pro or have already had work published.
One or two are full-time professionals. Whatever your level of
writing ability, you are welcome to join ideas4writers and make
