Newsgroups

Newgroups are the forerunners of today's forums. Many newer internet users don't even know that they exist. Although many newgroups are now falling into disuse and being replaced with forums on websites, they are nevertheless a useful resource.

You will need to use special newsreader software to access the groups. Newsgroup access is also built into Microsoft Outlook Express, but you'll need to configure it connect to your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) news server. Your ISP will be able to provide you with instructions on how to do this.
