Get into the habit of asking people about the strangest, weirdest, most bizarre things they've ever seen or had happen to them. Ask everyone - your friends, your family, doctor, dentist, the person sitting or standing next to you. The world is a stranger place than you can possibly imagine, and these people are your witnesses. Most of them will be delighted to tell you all about it. Think about how you can make use of these events in your writing. If you can't find a way of using them in fiction, why not make them into a non-fiction collection. You could even write a few of them up into a magazine article and invite readers to send in their own stories You can put the best of them in your book.
