Dave Haslett from ideas4writers will be running a "Get Your
Book Published!" workshop in Exeter, Devon on Saturday 28th June
2008. You are very welcome to
attend but we're limiting the number of places to 8
so you'll need to book early. If the event is heavily over-subscribed
we'll run it again at a later date.

Thinking of writing a book? Partway through writing one? Finished
it but keep getting rejected? Wondering whether self-publishing
is right for you? This workshop takes you through all the options
(mainstream, independent, and self-publishing) and looks at which
would be the best fit for you and your book.
You will learn:
- how to find and approach mainstream and independent publishers
that are suitable for you and your book
- what you need to send and what you should (and shouldn't)
say
- how to write query letters, proposals and synopses
that get results - you will actually write yours during
the workshop
under Dave's guidance
- how to decide whether you need an agent, and how
to get one if you do
- exactly what publishers and agents are looking
for
- all about multi-book publishing deals
- how to write a book marketing plan
- how to guarantee that your book gets accepted,
and what happens afterwards
- how to publish your book yourself without
it costing you a fortune - or find someone
who will
do it for
you without
ripping
you off
- how to sell lots of copies
This workshop consists of a series of talks,
group discussions, and individual and
group exercises. You will leave the
workshop with all the materials you
need to make a successful approach
to publishers and agents, a detailed
marketing plan, and a list of carefully targeted
publishers, agents,
self-publishing
companies,
printers, marketing companies and PR
specialists - whatever is right for you and your book.
Each
person will also get a
private
15-minute one-to-one session with Dave.
